  • The Solids Control Technician / Operator will operate and maintain solids control equipment (centrifuge, drying shakers, desanders, desilters, etc.) and other heavy equipment as assigned by the Superintendent.


  • Maintaining and operating solids control equipment as per customer specifications (centrifuge, drying shakers, desanders, desilters, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot and repair of equipment
  • Assist with the rigging up and rigging down of solids control equipment
  • Maintain accurate service logs, customer paperwork and safety documents as per customers’ specifications
  • Facilitate the mechanical / electrical steps commonly utilized with solids control equipment and processes
  • Operate the equipment according to specifications as directed by the Superintendent
  • Perform pre and post job equipment inspections, complete preventative maintenance procedures and operate equipment as per customers’ standards
  • Assemble and prepare equipment for installation and service
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent


  • 2+ years of Solids Control experience in a drilling operations environment


  • Ability to clearly communicate with supervisors and co-workers
  • Ability to maintain solids control system and perform preventative maintenance of the system
  • Ability to mix bulk material to client specification in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
  • Ability to clearly communicate with supervisors and co-workers
  • Ability to follow work orders or receive instructions
  • Ability to adhere to Safety policies and procedures

Physical Requirements:

  • The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required.  This includes hard hat, safety glasses, life vest, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done
  • Walking, stepping, climbing or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, and normally involves physically getting into and out of equipment through the use of vertical mounted ladders up to and including 10’ or more in height
  • Visually seeing equipment operations well (either naturally or with corrective lenses)
  • Standing, stooping kneeling, squatting, climbing or sitting for long periods of time
  • Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work
  • Working at elevated heights
  • Lifting 50 lb. objects as required
  • Carrying 50 lb. objects as required
  • Adapting to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure
  • Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments and holidays as required


  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required

Licenses or Certifications:

  • OSHA 10 Certification Preferred


  • Travel is required
